Organizer Guide

This section covers everything you need to set up and run an event using tripplan.ing. It combines the admin dashboard (what you configure) with the attendee experience (what your guests see).

Getting oriented

After creating an event (see Creating Events), you'll manage it through the admin dashboard at /admin. Your attendees interact with the public event site at your event's subdomain.

Admin dashboard

Open /admin to see the management overview. From here you can navigate to:

Admin access

To access the admin dashboard, your email must be in the event's admin email list. The initial admin email is set when the event is created in the platform UI. Additional admins can be added in Event Settings.

If you're redirected away from /admin, check that:

  1. You're signed in with the correct email
  2. Your email is listed as an admin for this event
  3. The event is properly configured in the platform

Event modes

Events operate in two modes:

ModeBehavior
ActiveFull site — RSVP, payments, schedule, all content visible
Post-eventRead-only — photos, documents, and polls accessible; RSVP and payments hidden

Switch modes in Event Settings or see Post-Event Mode for details.

When configuring a new event:

  1. Event Settings — Set name, dates, location, theme colors
  2. Content — Add homepage sections with event info
  3. Schedule — Build the agenda
  4. Custom Fields — Add any extra RSVP questions
  5. Payments — Configure pricing tiers and add-ons (if collecting money)
  6. People & Access — Add allowed emails
  7. Share the event URL with your guests
